A six-member trade delegation from Britain will visit Barbados between 31 May and 04 June 2008. Barbados will be the first stop of a three-country tour that will also feature Trinidad & Tobago (04-10 June) and Jamaica (10-13 June).
The delegation will be supported by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), the Government organisation that supports UK-based companies doing business internationally and overseas enterprises seeking to locate in the UK.
The group?s leadership is represented by Ms Joy Heatley, International Trade Advisor with the Black Country Chamber of Commerce and Mr Athelston ?Tony? Sealy, Managing Director of Canefield Ltd, a multi-unit franchise operator.
The trade delegation is comprised of companies offering a wide range of UK goods and services, including management development and internet marketing, strategic partnership development and professional beauty services.
Ms Heatley and Mr Sealey are expected to meet with public and private sector organisations – including the Barbados Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Barbados Small Business Association, Barbados Coalition of Service Industries and leading business houses. Delegation members will also pursue individual business programmes.
One highlight of the visit will see delegation members participate in a free ?Drop-in Session? at the Accra Beach Hotel & Resort on Tuesday, 03 June (8.00am-11.00am) which members of the local business community and media are invited to attend. The ‘Drop-in Session’s purpose is simple – to deepen business contacts, explore importing from or exporting to the UK, pursue potential joint venture initiatives and generally exchange business ideas in a relaxed environment. Previous ?Drop-in Sessions? by visiting UK trade delegations have been well attended by local businesspersons.
