Coach of leading Jamaican school?s cricket team searches for new talent – DIGICEL SCOTIABANK CRICKET EXPERIENCE ATTRACTS COACHES SCOUTING FOR TALENT
The Digicel Scotiabank Cricket Experience arrived in Jamaica with the coach of one of Jamaica?s top school cricket teams, Clive Ledgister, using the event to scout for talented young cricketers to join St. Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS). This prestigious cricket team has won the George Hedley Cup an impressive 21 times. STETHS has a history of producing world-class cricketers and boasts West Indies Cricketers, Jerome Taylor and Daren Powell, as former pupils.
The Digicel Scotiabank Cricket Experience (DSCE) has already visited Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago and St. Lucia where cricket fans turned out in their hundreds to join in the fun and games. The Jamaica session is no exception with cricket fans from all over the island testing out their cricket skills in the many exciting games.
?The Digicel Scotiabank Cricket Experience is an excellent initiative that not only lets aspiring young cricketers enjoy the fun behind cricket, but it?s the perfect opportunity for cricket coaches to assess the talent of the young cricketers taking part in the games,? commented Clive Ledgister, Head Coach of STETHS cricket team. ?I?ve seen a few talented bowlers and batsmen here today who will benefit from joining the STETHS cricket team.?
The DSCE will travel to Antigua, Barbados, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Grenada and St. Kitts & Nevis in advance of the Digicel Tests and Digicel ODIs taking place in these countries as part of the Digicel Home Series.
The DSCE is a collaborative effort between Digicel and Scotiabank which aims to bring West Indies fans closer to the game and the players by creating fun experiences and opportunities in a relaxed environment where they can learn more about the sport while testing their skills at various aspects of the game such as throwing, batting, bowling, knowledge and more.
