American Consular Section temporarily closed for construction

The Consular Section of the United States Embassy to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean will be closed from June 2nd to June 6th, 2008 to facilitate major improvements to one of the public waiting areas.

During this time no appointments will be accepted for routine visa applications and persons who have normal business with the Consular Section are asked to postpone all visits until after June 6th, 2008.

Even though the section will be closed to the public, Consular Section personnel will be available to deal with emergencies involving U.S. citizens as well as the most urgent visa cases, such as those dealing with medical emergencies or deaths.

Persons requesting urgent non-immigrant visa interview appointments for the week of June 2nd to 6th should contact the Consular Section by telephone at 246 227-4227 or via e-mail.

They should give their name, nationality and passport number, describing the nature of the emergency (with supporting evidence), indicating the date the applicant would like to apply, and giving the applicant?s telephone and e-mail contact information. U.S. citizens needing emergency assistance should call the American Citizen Services unit of the Consular Section at 246 227-4226.
