First Round of Open Mic sessions at Braddies Bar: Duo earns their bones

The Pyramid Produced Open Mic at Braddies Bar had its first session last Thursday (April 3, 2008) and was a resounding success. Hosted by Popular DJ and Radio Personality DJ Hurricane, the night featured 21 performers who kept the crowd entertained from start to finish. The Dover, Christ Church, Barbados establishment, barely had standing room as patrons came to enjoy the after work “lime session” while viewing and supporting some of Barbados’ young, aspiring artistes.

Interested persons continued to come throughout the night requesting to perform even as the show was wrapping up, proving that Barbados possesses a wealth of emerging talent simply looking for an opportunity to showcase their craft.

Pyramid Entertainment Management Inc. was very pleased with the high turnout, and the high level of the performances.

The evening’s proceedings included outstanding performances from B.M.A (Barbadian Music Award) Best Rap Artiste, Ruby Tech and Storm Thriller performing there hit song, “Hello World“, the soulful Leanne “Kim-Lee” Odle performing a self composed piece entitled “True Deceivers” and the reggae trio Immortals performing, “A Girl Like you“.

The highlight for the evening however were the night’s final performers J Bones and Prosperity Yout, whose high energy and stage presence had the crowd jumping out of their seats and begging for more. So captivating were these two entertainers that they ended up performing for over twenty minutes. They truly captured the spirit of Open Mic and even invited some of Barbados’ more prominent reggae artistes Buggy, LRG, 360 and Snappah to perform alongside them, creating additional audience frenzy.

Open Mic continues Thursday April 10 at Braddies Bar and all are invited. This show is open to anyone who wants to have a Jam session. Admission is FREE. Persons interested in performing are asked to go here and download the registration form and fill it out then submit it by 5:00 pm on the day of the show to ensure them a timeslot or telephone (246) 420-8039 and ask to speak to an Open Mic Agent.
