bMobile Power and Groovy Monarch Semi Finalists: One Bajan competitor

Four members on Pyramid Entertainment’s artiste roster are ready to take on some of the regions best in the semi-finals of the International bMobile Power and Groovy Soca Monarch Competitions to be held on 20th February, 2008 at the Arima Beladrole in Trinidad.

2007 Party Monarch Winner Lil Rick is the sole Barbadian entrant into the Power Soca Monarch competition. Caan Wait, continues to receive steady rotation not only on the local radio stations but in the regional and international markets. The recently released music video has been holding the #10 position on Synergy TV’s countdown for the past two weeks.

Vying for the coveted title of International Groovy Soca Monarch is Mr. Dale, Barbados? 2007 People’s Monarch and Road March winner with his very infectious Crop Over hit ?Soca Junkie? and Party Monarch Finalist, Peter Ram with his blazing hit ?Pumpin? which features a remix with Jamaican dancehall artiste Aidonia. Both artistes are up against first time winner Biggie Irie who created history in 2007 making him the first ever non- Trinidadian to win the title. Biggie Irie will be defending his title with ?Band on Fire? another Red Boyz production.

Music videos for Pumpin and Soca Junkie were recently launched in Trinidad and are currently making their way into the charts. The videos have been the result of a Barbadian Jamaican collaboration which witnessed the production of five music videos by internationally acclaimed music director Jay Will, who has produced videos for the likes of Shaggy, Beenie Man, Alaine and Mr. Vegas.
