Tortuga Rum Cakes from Barbados Featured on US TV Shopping Network

HSN, the U.S. television shopping network that reaches nearly 89 million households, featured Tortuga Caribbean Rum Cakes on three of its shows earlier this month. Monique Hamaty-Simmonds, the assistant managing director and daughter of the founder of the Tortuga Rum Company appeared to promote these gourmet tropical treats baked in the Cayman Islands, Barbados, Jamaica and the Bahamas.

Hamaty-Simmonds shared the Tortuga rum cake story and video of the cakes being baked, then hand glazed and vacuum sealed to lock in freshness. She discussed serving ideas and in just 10 minutes of total air time, sold nearly 4000 rum cakes.

Six delicious flavors ? original golden with walnuts, chocolate, coconut, banana, key lime and pineapple ? were offered at an exceptional value.

Video of one of Hamaty-Simmonds on-air appearances is also on the site.

Based in St Petersburg, Florida, HSN‘s television network reaches 89 million households and is the 4th largest cable network in the U.S.; and online features value-added video-on-demand and podcasts of products, shows, and tips.

?This was wonderful exposure for Caribbean products and our authentic and original Tortuga Caribbean Rum Cakes,? says Hamaty-Simmonds. ?It?s the perfect time to stock up for gift giving and entertaining throughout the holidays. This season, our rum cakes are featured in Gourmet and Saveur magazines, in numerous gift catalogs and online sites and offered in a wide variety of retail locations.?

Tortuga Rum Cakes are sold in onboard gift shops of more than 100 cruise ships and in gift and gourmet stores throughout the Caribbean and North America.
