TotallyBarbados.com has won the 14th Annual World Travel Awards 2007 for “The Caribbean’s Leading Overall Travel Information Website.”The award will be presented in December at a gala ceremony in Turks and Caicos and announced at the World Travel Market in London.
“I am over the moon to have won this award,” said Brett Callaghan, managing director of TotallyBarbados.com. “I launched this site to promote Barbados to the world as a tourism destination and am thrilled our hard work has been rewarded.”
TotallyBarbados.com was voted The Caribbean’s Leading Overall Travel Information Website by more than 167,000 travel professionals, which included more than 110,000 travel agents at the recent World Travel Awards 2007. These awards are considered to be the most prestigious in the global travel industry.
“I would like to thank all of our advertisers who have given their support to the site,” Callaghan said. “It is through their investment and belief in TotallyBarbados.com that we were able to invest in the site and fully promote Barbados to the world in the best possible way.
“And now, TotallyBarbados.com needs your vote as it has also been nominated as theWorld’s Leading Tourist Information Website‘.” ‘
The December ceremony in Turks and Caicos will be broadcast on BBC World and covered by Breaking Travel News, Conde Nast, Time Out and The Guardian newspaper, giving TotallyBarbados.com the international acclaim that it has worked so hard to achieve.
TotallyBarbados.com is the brainchild of Brett Callaghan, a former international horseracing jockey who wanted to tell the world about his beautiful island home and promote Barbados as the ultimate holiday destination.
He launched the site on September 1, 2005, and from the onset, was determined the site live up to its name and cover every topic related to Barbados, giving visitors and locals an invaluable online source of information.
TotallyBarbados.com is currently supported by advertisers including Diamonds International Barbados, Hilton Barbados Hotel and Barbados Plum Tree Club.
Ed’s Note – Even further, we have added Mr Callaghan’s link to our Barbadian places to visit, as well as Corrie Scott’s art website as separate from her monthly Arts blog.
Unfortunately, some comrades have fallen to the wayside for one reason or another – we no longer carry A Rock In Bim’s “Is There Any Body Out There?” nor The Bystander from WordPress as neither have been heard from since early June and Mid-August respectively! What Crazy Looks Like has been retired by eemanee the Scorpion who expected to conquer the world at 25 – that was Alexander millennia ago, babe… Unlikely such will happen again in a rush! But good luck with your other projects!
Jdid **CLAIMS** he retired, but every few days he keeps his hand in there, so we treat him like “Yeah, right“
We have also added the Bajan Frog out to save the Universe‘s other site as another place to visit as replacing the line-up; the link to my own contributions to IMDb may disappear as I am sick of their policies limiting my reviews! I may just post them here – what is your view?
