RBPF need witnesses to come fwd re: 1st C’bean robbery

Yesterday Friday 10th August 2007, about 9.05 am, armed assailants attacked and robbed an employee of RL Seale and Company of over $13,000 dollars belonging to RL Seale and Company.

Police investigations indicate the employee was targetted and not the Bank. It is believed the employee was even followed by the assailants. He entered the Bank and they pursued, attacked him, then escaped with the money in a motor vehicle in which they made a getaway.

The Royal Barbados Police Force wish the business community to improve their systems with regards to the transportation of cash to and from banking institutions. They also strongly recommend businesses enhance their security measures and give consideration to employing professional cash-in-transit security organisations.

The Police are asking for the public assistance in providing any information they may possess to assist in this investigation. They are requested to telephone Emergency number 211, Crime Stoppers at 429-8787 or the CID at 430-7189/ 7190. The information given will be held in the strictest confidence.
