The Barbados Postal Service (BPS) reminded Bajans mailing cash is illegal here and they should always use suggested guidelines.

?Customers are advised that mailing cash is prohibited,? said the BPS. ?British postal orders or international money orders are recommended instead.?

It added that ?for a small fee, a registered mail envelope with enhanced security features may be purchased when sending important documents or valuable items?.

The release did not state it directly, but if your cash is stolen then that’s it, but you should check BPS if money orders have similar coverage as travellers’ cheques if theft occurs.
