Government?s Animal Control Centre has advised that all persons walking their dogs ?must carry a plastic bag and a small scoop to remove all [poop]?.

According to Animal Control Officer, Curtis Thompson, the Dog Licensing and Control Regulations state that ?where a dog [craps] on a beach or in a public place, the owner of that dog [has to immediately] remove the [doo-doo] and dispose of it to the satisfaction of the Medical Officer of Health?.

He stated that ?any person who contravenes or fails without reasonable excuse to comply with this section is guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to a fine of $250.00 or to imprisonment for a term of three months or both?.

  1. I wonder who will enforce this ???
What Barbadian will call where? to report someone???
It sounds great to read this notice but it is just on paper. New York has just doubled the fines for such an offense.

  2. Pray tell this ignorant Bajan, Mr. Bourne, do you really believe there would be any more vigorous enforcement of the anti-poop laws than of the anti-littering and anti-garbage dumping laws, both of which are routinely honoured “more in the breach than in the observance.” I am all ears.

  3. This “Ignorant Barbadian” cleans up after his dogs on the public streets thank you………
