Peter Ram, one of Barbados’ better known entertainers throughout the Caribbean landed himself in hot water when he got rather homophobic in St Vincent, at least in the official sense, privately? Vincies are like Jamaicans when it comes to gays, his Manager (another Peter), Peter Boyce, in his Blog decided to get to the bottom of the matter –
Bear in mind there would be some shows that an entertainer would perform at where cursing would be accepted. Like in those dancehall brams and thing; For example: if you go to a strip club it would be expected and accepted that you would see people taking their clothes off, but you would not expect that to happen at a calypso finals.
So the issue is not that Peter Ram cursed, it is where he cursed. If he had been reading Boyce Voice he would not have made the mistake. The moral of this story is keep reading Boyce Voice. We will tell you when and where it is appropriate to light in people and curse their asses and when not too. Did I just curse? I am sorry!
At least Peter Ram was man enough to apologise; it takes a big Ram to say he is sorry. I just said I am sorry too so I am like real big!
On the anti gay comments, I think the problem was that Ram probably got his islands mixed up and thought he was in Jamaica. That?s what happens when you travel too much, so I will blame his management Santia Bradshaw. ?Santia why didn?t you tell Ram he was in St Vincent??

Now these days a performer is deemed controversial and a trouble maker because he has a song saying men should like women! You could imagine that? That?s what Peter Ram is saying is his popular 2006 tune ?Woman by My Side? when he uses the lyrics ?Man should not Lie with Man?. Ram has been causing controversy all over the place for singing those lyrics.
The fact is it is written in the Bible in Leviticus that ?man should not lie with man? and that?s about all there is to it. I think that means women should not lie with women either nor bite one another.
Now I will stop here and change my subject midstream and I will tell you why. I realize that Gay people are now powerful and you cannot say any thing they do not like, unless you are in Jamaica. Next thing yuh know Boyce Voice site would get pull down!

Barbadian calypsonian Peter Ram was forced to apologise at a Soca Monarch competition in St. Vincent over the weekend after he used obscene language to criticize homosexuals.
Police and officials of the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) forced the singer on stage to offer a public apology.
The CDC chairman Dennis Ambrose said they don?t condone that type of behaviour at shows whether it is local or foreign artistes.
Ambrose said that the incident involving Ram, whose tune “I Need a Woman By My Side” is enjoying substantial air play was the only damper to what was a great weekend for Vincy Mas.
Ram is not the only entertainer recently apologising –

At KFEST, staged annually by Fishkill-based WSPK (104.7 FM), known as K104, Akon had the fan plucked from the audience by security. The singer then hoisted the teen on his shoulders and hurled him back into the crowd.
According to a witness and video footage of the incident, Akon appeared to be responding to something that was thrown at him from the crowd.
A 26-year-old Delaware County woman, on whom the teen landed, said she suffered a concussion.
