NSFW/NC-17: WARNING/BREAKING NEWS – Big WHAAAT theory? Has UWI gone MAD??

Ever been on MySpace? Weird place, good for networking and stuff – then you get all kinds of items, this was sent to me by a Barbadian UWI gal and I really wanna know if this stuff is true?

THIS LOAD , BELIEVE IT OR NOT, WAS SPEWED FORTH BY SOME ASS OF A PROFESSOR

THE SON OF… HAS MANAGED TO COIN – AND I QUOTE- “THE BIG DICK THEORY” WHICH IS IN MY OPINION , FORGIVE THE FRENCH AND OVERLY APPROPRIATE PUN …A BUNCH — OF CUNT

IN A LOGICAL WORLD THIS INCORRECT BANSHEE OF A SEXIST PIG… HAS THE PLATFORM TO … … oh, I CANT EVEN DIGNIFY THIS

READ ON THINKERS ……..READ ON!!!

In trying to ground a theory I am trying to develop, I decided to look for comparative studies on gender identity and the Afro-Caribbean woman. That was when I came across a load of bull shit from one Rev. Hall {Ed’s Note: This is NOT the great cricketer, okay? It’s another fellow, I had to search the Document really damn careful-like, LOL} who lectures Poverty Law at UWI Cave Hill, Barbados. In fact, I gather he is the damn course convenor!

This a**, actually posits that the feminization of poverty in the Caribbean can be largely (pun intended?) attributed to the Caribbean woman?s love of a big dick! (I could not make this up if I tried!)

He basically says that we Caribbean women have a ?primitive understanding of love? which is distinctly different from a more wholesome view of love that is found in Western societies. He argues that because of this, Caribbean women have multiple children with multiple men and spiral into a poverty of our own making.

Who did the ?reverend? sample? Did he also sample the ?big dicks?? Who is he referring to when he says ?the Caribbean woman?? Has he comparatively placed the Caribbean woman in the same paradigm as the ?Western? woman and if he has done so, how the hell can he call us whores? He does not even consider the socio-historical contexualities of the Caribbean woman! But even if he did, his wholesale pronouncement is just utter trash which is certainly not empirically sound.

This has me livid. And my resolve to find out more about this racist, sexist, misogynistic crap will most likely end up in a letter to the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the UWI.

Sounds like bar talk as far as I am concerned and has no place in any academic theoretical paradigm. It is a lethargic attempt to pathologize the Caribbean woman in the most demeaning manner. I am shocked anyone, especially women who make up three quarters of the UWI population, would sit and listen to this garbage!

What? Is the UWI becoming an even more vile space of rampant paternalism?

From a totally WESTERN perspective of ?morality?, why does this creep still have a job?

…..
Let me know what you guys think of this shit!!

If anyone can verify that this actually happened – write and do so WRITE away! This is a SERIOUS allegation here, ppl!

  1. He is right! Caribbean women are very, very, very loose and I support his right to say what he has said. Why is that the truth upsets caribbean people so much? From the time, and in some cases even before, black girls leave school they are looking for some man to breed them. That is why there are so many men fathering children that are not theirs. The women have been with so many men that they do not know who the children real father is, as a result they just call a name. I have a sister in law and her case is not unique, who is 24 years old and she has five children and is now pregant with the sixth child and all for different men. Figure that one out! I have a friend who is a church woman and no one has more men than her, again not a unique case. The things she does sexually you would not believe it.

  2. What does this have to do with your equipment being a telephone pole or a pencil? If you know what to do you can have standard Govt issue and make a gal feel like she is cruising with the Earthrace – conversely, there are men who make John Holmes leave a woman dryer than the Sahara!

BTW: 2 so-called “loose” wmn that you may personally know does not qualify you as a connoisseur – and even if it did, they may have a healthy appetite for sex, but are they looking for huge organs? Get real!

  3. Which planet are living on? Women have told me that they dropped men because their “business” was too small for them. One woman told me she liked them the size of a telephone pole!

  4. Same planet as you, just maybe not same species – but yes, while there are wmn who claim SIZE matters they tend to be in the minority. I guess I was more fortunate in my relationships with wmn, for the most part they had bigger in other relationships, but they realise it is SKILLS and not QUANTITY that matters! :oD L8R!!

  5. Sorry to burst your bubble. As a student who studied under Rev Hall: yes he has stated this, and yes this student you cite has completely misinterpreted it.
It regards the ‘ghetto womans cycle,’ and it has nothing to do with the size of the male organ. It goes that a young girl in poverty is first attracted to a man, for whatever reason, he has power, money and they have sex. She may fall in love, but she gets pregnant and is quickly thrown away by the man who has no intention to take it any further because of the child. Thus a source of financial income is cut off, as she was perhaps kept to an extent. She then has to find additional income (she may be a domestic helper or some other profession) and another man comes along, who perhaps attempts to take advantage of her. He is aware that he has leverage because she needs financial support. So she gets financial support from this man, again in exchange, perhaps, for sex. She may get pregnant again, or not, but she soon becomes aware of the fact that she can gain financially from these relationships.
Thus the ‘big dick’ is not about the sexual gratification, but more so referring to the ‘sugar daddy’ that holds down many Caribbean women.
Anyone who denies the existence of the ‘big dick theory’ is living in a bubble and knows nothing about the plight of many Caribbean women.
So what if he chooses a controversial name? That is what makes things sell.
It is by no means sexist against women, and if it is sexist, it would be sexist in labelling those men as nothing more than a ‘dick.’

I say to whichever girl sent you that, come off you high horse, nobody is trying to attack women, he is stating a fact. I did two years of Poverty law under Rev Hall, he told us about persons like that girl who misinterpret the theory and how unfortunate it is that her own insecurity has blinded her to what is nothing more than a controversial restatement of a Caribbean fact.

We did suggest to Hall that he use a less ‘interesting’ name, and anyone knowing Hall would know that his response would be witty, defensive and hilarious. The man is a character, let him be… I dont agree with everything he says but this theory isnt something to attack him about…

  6. The woman is stuck in a cycle, she uses children to hold down a man to a financial obligation, or so she hopes. It has nothing to do with race (Rev Hall was married to a black African woman) nor is it sexist, it is factual. Ghetto women do this. Women in poverty do this. Heck I have even seen students at Cave Hill use Bajan men for security, transport and money in exchange for sex. It is a fact. The big dick theory is not about the size of the dick, it is about women using sex as a weapon, as a tool, and it does happen. Dont be blind.
