It’s strange how I spoke of bells tolling the other day, that is exactly what must have happened for Shawn Terry Cox over in Venezuela the other day, Stabroek News has the rest of that story about their attempting to qualify for the Pan-Am {Editor’s Note – Pan American: Caribbean & Latin America} games – “…including the outstanding Barbadian Shawn Terry Cox, were unsuccessful at the first qualifier in Venezuela.
“Cox [along with] his Barbadian team-mate Anderson Emanuel, and top Bahamian Taureno Johnson, [all] suffered losses in their first try at qualification.
“A Trinidad and Tobago quartet also missed out on qualification after exiting the competition early.
“Cox, won the Commonwealth Championship light heavyweight gold medal in Glasgow in August 2005, and grabbed silver at the Pan American Championship in Brazil in October of the same year. He is a seven-time Caribbean Amateur Boxing Association (CABA) gold medalist.”
Hopefully Shawn Terry Cox, as he is still young, will prove to be another Barbados Demon soon from now…
