Ozzies, Barmy Army – even the Indians are going to spend some rupee to make whoopee for CWC 2007

So, I have heard that the breweries here have been stockpiling their inventory since about September last year to be ready for the Brits and the Ozzies (when the Barmy Army was here last time we ran out of foamy) – at the risk of sounding racist; are we going to stock up on geera or chutney for the influx of Indians?

This is no joke, many people from Delhi are on their way, according to the indiatimes – ” The operators say the experience will be well worth the cost. Thrown into the package will be cruises with former West Indian cricketing greats, calypso street parties and unlimited food and drinks.

Barbados, where India would be playing three matches in the Super-Eight stage, is expecting 20,000 tourists from all over the world and will accommodate another 10,000 traditional travellers during the matches involving India.”

Many Indians living in the US are expected to follow Dravid?s boys around in the West Indies.”

Do we really understand the scope of this operation? Are we really ready – or is Kensington come February, another Sherbourne? Sweet at the front but needs completing from the rear?
