Digicel is making it easier for its mobile customers to store more photos, music, videos and other data with the introduction of Digicel Space, a new mobile data storage application.

In addition to these popular and most used file types, customers will have the ability to store contacts and calendar information on this personal cloud based application, which is compatible with smartphones, tablets and personal computers.

Using Digicel Space, smartphone users will be able to store the files which are important to them all in one secure location, while allowing them to access them from multiple devices. This means that even when a user changes their device or loses it, they would still be able to access this information from a personal computer or a new mobile device.

Marketing Executive with Digicel (Barbados) Limited, Randy Howard, said the new application gives customers the freedom to use their devices to their fullest potential, without having to worry about running out of storage space:
Today’s smartphone customer uses their device for much more than making phone calls, messaging, or staying connected via social media. The majority now use them to record extraordinary moments in their lives by taking photographs and videos, in addition to entertaining themselves by using them as music storage devices. The use of more mobile devices and online sites results in a ‘splinternet’ of your digital life and having your own personal cloud makes it easy to access this life from smartphones, tablets and computers whenever and wherever. With Digicel Space users can continue to capture these moments without fear of having to delete older files to make space for them, while also giving them the ability to access them on the go.”

Digicel Space currently supports devices running Android, Windows Phone, Windows PC and Mac OS, with plans already in progress to roll out to others, such as iOS/ iPhone and BlackBerry.

Customers wishing to sign up for the service can do so by visiting http://register.digicelspace.com on their mobile phones, or www.digicelspace.com using their personal computers.

All customers will be automatically placed on the 10GB Premium plan, which is FREE until January 31, 2105. For those looking for more storage, Digicel offers several tiers of storage, ranging from 1 Gigabyte to 30 Gigabytes, which will available from February 1, 2015.
