Producer/Director Marcia Weekes from “Step By Step Productions” stated it was quite an achievement for a local film production to be able to gain access to the African market and they were very excited by this development.

The connection came about when Weekes visited Africa as part of the BIDC Barbadian delegation and attended the Durban International Film Festival which took place in July. It was at an impromptu showing of “Chrissy” that distributors were able to see the film, the audience was quite impacted by the story line and it sparked immediate interest for it to be released in Africa. {CLICK ON FOLLOWING ICON FOR FULL AUDIO – TABLET & SMARTPHONE USERS PLEASE CLICK ON Marcia‘s NAME FOR THE LINK}

In addition to Weekes, “Chrissy” stars Makalah Harrison, Carra and Janna O’Donnel will be attending the coming film festival as well.

It is hoped that this will create opportunities for other local films including Step By Step‘s upcoming production “Vigilante: The Crossing” due to be released later this year.
