MAN CHARGED ON 20 LBS CANNABIS – OUT ON $60K BAIL

Police have charged Nicholi Jabari Blenman, 27 years of Fordes Road, Clapham, St. Michael with the offences of:

1. Possession
2. Possession with intent to supply
3. Trafficking; and
4. Importation of 20 lbs of cannabis.

On 29th August 2014, Blenman went to a Bond in Bridgetown to collect a barrel which arrived from the USA said to contain foodstuff.  The barrel was searched in his presence and 11 cans bearing the labels of a variety of food were discovered to contain the compressed cannabis.  The total weight was 20 lbs.  He was detained and subsequently charged by the Police.

Blenman appeared at District A Magistrates Court on Saturday 30th August 2014, and pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was granted bail in the sum of $60,000 with one surety, to return to Court on 2nd December 2014. He was ordered to surrender his passport.
