2 MEN CHARGED ON 2 LBS OF GANJA

Police have arrested and charged the following persons arising out of a seizure by the Customs Enforcement Department:

1. Amos Wilberforce Andrews, 56 years of Fitts Gap, Westbury Road, St. Michael; and
2. Martin Andrew Griffith of Bay Street, St. Michael;

They were charged with the offences of: 1. Possession 2. Possession with intent to supply 3. Trafficking; and  4. Importation of 2 lb of cannabis.

They were charged with the offences of:
1. Possession
2. Possession with intent to supply
3. Trafficking; and
4. Importation of 2 lb of cannabis.

On August 27th, members of the Enforcement Unit of the Customs and Excise Department carried out a search of a consignment containing seasoning which arrived from Jamaica, and placed in a Cargo Bond at the Airport. The search revealed 2lbs of cannabis concealed within the bottled seasoning. Further investigations led to the arrest of the mentioned persons.

They are expected to appear at Magistrates Court later on Friday 29th August 2014.
