3 BARBADIANS CHARGED WITH DRUG OFFENCES

As a result of a joint investigation between the Drug Squad and Customs Enforcement, Ian Antonio Babb, 33 years of Kendall Hill B, Christ Church; Shawn Anthony Ricardo Scantlebury, 36 years, of 1st Avenue Fairfield, Black Rock, St. Michael; and Dave Anderson Codrington, 30 years of Bannister Land, Martindales Road, St. Michael, were arrested and jointly charged for the offences of:

1. Acts Preparatory to trafficking cannabis;
2. Conspiracy to import cannabis; and
3. Trafficking.

Dave Codrington received an additional charge of:
Importation of cannabis.

The joint operation led to the discovery and seizure of the drugs, weighing 10 lbs, which were contained in a refrigerator compressor imported from Jamaica by air freight.  Further investigations then led to the arrest of the mentioned persons on July 3rd, 2014.

Ian Antonio Babb, Shawn Anthony Ricardo Scantlebury, and Dave Anderson Codrington, made an appearance at the District A Magistrates Court on Saturday July 5th , 2014
