T&T Manufacturers ‘excited’ to be part of Summer Fancy Food Show

Excited’, ‘Very proud’, ‘Thrilled’, ‘Optimistic’, ‘Exhilarated by the possibilities’, ‘Proud and accomplished‘, all words to describe the feelings of the thirteen local exhibitors on the opening day of the 60th Summer Fancy Food Show (SFFS), which runs from Sunday 29 June on to Tuesday 1 July, 2014 at the Jacob Javits Center, New York, USA.

There has been a constant stream of visitors to the Trinidad and Tobago Pavilion since the Show’s doors opened at 10:00 am today. Ongoing sampling at the Trinidad and Tobago Pavilion include Aloo Pie with condiments; Sugar cake; Carib, Mackeson, Shandy; Tamarind and Pepper Sauces with pholourie; Roti and a dipping sauce; Hot Sauce with mini toasts and sorrel drink; Tea and Chai Rum; Catch, Rum and Raisin Chocolates; a range of sweets; Pepper sauces and jams served with chicken breasts, crackers and cheese.

Representatives at the opening include Assemblyman Joel Jack, Secretary for Finance and Enterprise Development; Mr. Robert Tang Yuk, Chairman exporTT Limited; and Dr. Rohanie Maharaj, Chairman (Ag), Food and Beverage Industry Development Committee.

The thirteen (13) TT companies participating are Carib Brewery, KC Confectionery Ltd;, National Canners Ltd; Associated Brands Industries Ltd; VEMCO Ltd; SMAKS Luxury Group Ltd; RHS Marketing Ltd; Chatak Food Products Ltd; The Roti Factory; ASMA’s Roti; Flavour Me Rite, Jus Rite Creations and Tobago’s Gourmet Granola; and representatives of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Communications, exporTT Limited and the Tobago House of Assembly.

The Summer Fancy Food Show which is North America’s Largest Specialty Food & Beverage Event and brings in more than 40,000 attendees from more than 80 countries with over 260,000 innovative specialty food products on display.
