Three take ‘Advantage’ of CIBC FirstCaribbean’s Visa Debit Card offer

Three lucky customers of CIBC FirstCaribbean are now enjoying the benefits of owning a new Visa Debit Card while gaining an extra financial boost of USD $500.00 to their respective bank accounts.

The bank’s month-long Get the Visa Debit Card Advantage direct mail campaign blitz offered customers a chance to upgrade from their regular Convenience card to a Visa Debit card between March and April. Since then hundreds of customers have successfully made the switch. Romar Parris, Denise Vaughan and Rodney Turton were randomly selected after submitting their applications for the upgrade.

The three winners received their prize earnings during a recent ceremony at the Warrens Banking Centre, led by branch manager, Richard Kennedy and members of his team.

The lone female of the group, Denise Vaughan, noted that the direct mail campaign ‘caught her eye’ since she was thinking of making the change for some time and didn’t hesitate once the offer was made. A customer of the bank for more than twenty years, she is eager to use her newly acquired debit card for future online shopping and travel. “I feel great and while I have no immediate plans I will just leave the funds there (on the account) and have access to them from my Visa Debit card!”

Romar Parris was harder to convince that he was indeed a winner, especially having “‘never won anything in my life. When I got the call I asked, is this real?” He was immediately sold on the benefits of the Visa Debit Card when he compared its versatile usage with his Convenience card. “I couldn’t pass up the chance to enter since I don’t really like the idea of a credit card but I do a lot of purchases online and other daily tasks. My plan is to grow my savings to help buy equipment for my DJ and studio work.” Also known as “DJ 32“, Parris concluded, “It’s a good feeling…and I am grateful.”

Rodney Turton noted “I felt so good when I heard I had won but thought it was a prank so I felt relieved when the second call came to confirm that I got the prize!” His mission, in the long term, is on saving rather than spending, particularly with school-aged children. Another longstanding customer of over 20 years, he is eager to have a new Visa Debit card to help keep track of his finances. “What makes it even better than a credit card is that I won’t have to pay late fees!
