The way the Director sees it, upon entering the Sagicor Visionaries Challenge this will create a chance to design a sustainable solution to a problem facing various schools or communities. Seizing the opportunity can lead to the ultimate – becoming a regional champion of the Sagicor Visionaries Challenge.

The Visionaries Challenge encourages secondary and high school students to develop effective, innovative and sustainable solutions to the challenges facing them. Entries are first evaluated and judged at the national level in each of the Challenge Countries, with the winning school in each country moving on to the regional competition. Representatives of national school winners and their respective teachers will also participate in a 7-day, all-expenses STEM Ambassador Programme to Florida.

Students in Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Guyana, Hillsborough County – Tampa, Florida, St. Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago are eligible to submit entries when this year’s competition opens in September 2014. National competitions will take place in November 2014 and one representative from each winning team will travel to Tampa, Florida for the S.T.E.M. Ambassador Programme in July 2015. Secondary and high School students entering the Sagicor Visionaries Challenge have the chance to design a sustainable solution to a problem facing their school or community.
