38 year old owner of “The Gold Place” facing “Cash For Gold” charges
Police have arrested and charged James Blackett, 38 years, owner of The Gold Place, located at Bridgetown, for 3 counts of Failure to Pay by Cheque, as set out in the Precious Metal and Second Hand Metals Act. He appeared at the District A Magistrates Court on Saturday June 7th 2014, and was granted bail in the sum of $5000.00 to return to Court on September 3rd , 2014.
Barbadians are reminded they must be paid by cheque when selling precious metal to dealers. They are also reminded that they must produce and present their National Identification Card, a valid Passport or Drivers Licence when conducting such business.
