2 Men charged, re: 3rd May Shooting at Halls Village, St James

Police arrested and formally charged Amandeo Kephar Henderson Yearwood, 26 years of #5 St Catherine Close, Haynesville, St James for the offences of:

1. Possession of a firearm
2. Possession of seventeen rounds of ammunition

Amandeo Kephar Henderson Yearwood and Shomari Ayo Durant, 23 years of #28 Oxnards Crescent, St. James were arrested and jointly charged for the offences of:

1. Wounding with intent
2. Endangering Life

Just after midnight on the 3rd May 2014 a number of persons were under a shed at Halls Village # 2, St James, when a motor car drove up to the driveway to the shed. The occupants of the car got out and allegedly discharged firearms causing the persons present to flee. One of the persons under the shed received gunshot injuries, and was hospitalised. Sometime afterwards, investigating police officers detained the driver of the suspected vehicle.

On the 4th of May 2014 a search warrant was executed at the home of Amandeo Yearwood and one firearm and seventeen rounds of ammunition were found.

Amandeo Kephar Henderson Yearwood and Shomari Ayo Durant appeared at the Holetown Magistrates Court and were detained until 2 June 2014.
