Going live over the weekend was the 4G site at Kent in Christ Church, bringing to an end Digicel’s latest round of network upgrades, which had been undertaken over the last few weeks.
In attention to Kent, customers in the surrounding areas of Edgecumbe, Boarded Hall/Watts Village, The Mount and Groves in St. George; Mile & A Quarter, St. Peter’s Bay and Black Bess in St. Peter; Carrington/Brereton and Harrow in St. Philip; Farley Hill and Belleplaine in St. Andrew; Guinea in St. John; Vaucluse, Sturges and Highclere in St. Thomas; Bissex Hill in St. Joseph and Rising Sun/Lowland in Christ Church, will now be experiencing enhanced 4G coverage and faster 4G connectivity thanks to the upgrades.
“The use of mobile devices has evolved to the point where data usage is now the focus for most individuals and in some cases businesses. This is supported by the fact that the majority of the devices on our network are now 4G capable smartphones, in addition to the increased daily data usage which we have been recording. As a mobile provider we need to stay ahead of game, delivering on our customers’ needs at all times, and this is a perfect example of us paying attention to the trends and putting things in place to give our valued customers what they want.”
Grannum also stated that Digicel will continue to make investments to enhance its network in order to benefit their customers and ensure that their mobile experience is indeed an extraordinary one.
