“My name is I-Octane and who nuh know mi, know mi now.” proclaimed I-Octane.

It was a celebration at SOBs in New York City this past Wednesday as a capacity crowd came to see I-Octane launch his “My Journey” album with his newly formed Conquer the Globe band (Emperor’s Choice). In attendance were many diehard fans, key influencers, several media houses including Sean “P Diddy” Combs Revolt TV, Billboard Magazine, Complex, and numerous others. “This is the most diverse crowd I’ve seen at SOBs and that’s a testament to this seminal artist” stated the evening’s host Rob Kenner.

Before the performance, DJ Dean of Livity Movements rocked the crowd with a set that can only be described as "shellings" and when Octane touched the stage, he did not disappoint; he put on a masterful 90 minute performance with that held the crowd spellbound and hanging on his every word.

Especially well received were “Million Miles Away”, “Mamma”, “Stepping in the Name of Love“, and “Jah Jah Warrior“. An acoustic version of the poor peoples’ anthem “My Story (Man Ah Suffer Too Long)” caused pandemonium in the venue. The anthem was peppered with several personal anecdotes about growing up poor, how it shaped him, and where he got his positivity.

One patron said "I've seen him (Octane) perform four times and this was the most riveting and engaging I've seen him. The intimate setting was great. I hope to see him in that type of environment again soon"

The event was the climax of Octane’s three-day whirlwind promo tour in the place he describes as his second home. On Monday night, he was interviewed during the Boomshots show at Miss Lily’s, a Caribbean culture themed radio station/ restaurant and shop in the heart of Manhattan where a pop-up shop of the artist’s Silver Factory Merchandise collection along with copies of the “My Journey” album are available.

On Tuesday, he visited the Sirius XM radio studios where he performed three cuts from the album and was interviewed by industry stalwart Pat McKay. Later than day he was the subject of a piece by Complex's newly launched TV component where he gave a taste of his past and present along with plans for the future.

“Overall I am extremely happy with the New York launch of the album and look forward to taking the “My Journey” experience on the road.” concluded Octane.
