Members of the Drug Squad arrested and charged Shaqaan Greenidge, 17 years of White Hall #3, St. Michael for the offence of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm on Thursday 3 April 2014. Police executed a search warrant at the residence and the firearm was discovered.

Also, his mother Juanita Greenidge 34 years of the same address was arrested and charged for the below mentioned drug related offences committed on the 3 April 2014 at the same residence:

1. Possession of 30 cannabis plants
2. Cultivation; and
3. Trafficking.

They appeared at the Oistins Magistrates Court, Shaqaan Greenidge was remanded until 24 April 2014 to appear at the District A Magistrates Court. Juanita Greenidge pleaded guilty to the charges and was fined $6,500.00 on the charge of Possession, to be paid by 4th July 2014. She was Convicted, Reprimanded and Discharged on the remaining charges of Cultivation and Trafficking.

DRUG SEIZURE

On Thursday 3 April 2014, members of the Drug Squad conducted a drug eradication programme as part of the Force’s drive, seized 1388 cannabis plants under cultivation at Superlative, St. George. These plants were hidden in a bushy area. No arrests were made.

COURT RESULTS: BIBBY’S LANE DEATH

Junior Wilmount Hart, 37 years, of Division Drive, Eden Lodge, St. Michael who for the offence of Murder in relation to the shooting death of Shereece Whyte, a 22 year old Jamaican national, appeared at the Oistins Magistrates Court on Friday 4 April 2014, and was remanded until 24 April 2014, to appear at the District A Magistrates Court.
