Police have arrested and jointly charged Jed Anthony Taylor 17 years of Foul Bay, St. Philip and Tyler Robert Coombes 16 years of Worthing Road, Christ Church for the offence of Causing a nuisance by setting fire to grassland at Chancery Lane, Christ Church.

Jed Taylor and Tyler Coombes appeared at the Oistins Magistrates Court before Chief Magistrate Ms. Pamela Beckles on Monday 14 April 2014 and they were not required to plea. They were each placed on $25,000 bail to return to Court on 10 July 2014 and have been order to surrender their passports and have been placed on a 6:00 pm to 6:00 am curfew. Taylor is to report to the Oistins Police Station every Monday before 10.00 am and Coombes is to report to the Worthing Police Station every Monday before 10.00 am.

On Wednesday 9th April 2014, Police received a report of a grass fire at Chancery Lane.  The personnel of the Barbados Fire Service were summoned to deal with the fire.

Residents in the area were interviewed, and they complained about the effects the fire was having on them. Further investigations were carried out and the two mentioned persons subsequently interviewed, arrested and charged on the 12th April 2014 for the offence.
