Trinidad trumps Barbados again: Port Of Spain Trade Ministry and invesTT host Saudi investment delegation
The Twin Island’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment along with Trinidad’s Investment Promotion Agency, invesTT Limited, hosted an investment delegation from Saudi Arabia led by His Excellency Dr. Fahad Al Dawood on Wednesday 26th March, 2014. The delegation, visiting for the period of March 24th – 28th, paid a courtesy visit on Senator Vasant Bharath, Minister of Trade, Industry and Investment, at his Nicholas Towers office in Port of Spain.
His Excellency noted the major developments taking place in Trinidad and Tobago and expressed keen interest in establishing stronger investment ties with Trinidad and Tobago, through investment in sectors such as tourism, which he believes can attract many tourists from Saudi Arabia.
The Trade Minister outlined the key sectors targeted for diversification which are open for investments and stated that he ‘is confident that this meeting will be the start of new relations which will strengthen ties and create investments that will be mutually beneficial for both countries‘.
Following the courtesy call, invesTT delivered a comprehensive presentation to the delegation outlining specific investment opportunities in the twin-island Republic.
Accompanying His Excellency were Mr. Shazaad Razul Mohammed and Mr. Umar Kkan, Chair – Trinidad/Saudi Arabia Chamber of Commerce (TSCC) and Coordinator of the Delegation.
During their weeklong visit, the delegation will visit key Government Ministers and Agencies and engage in investment opportunity talks.
