Team UNITY Leader Dr. Timothy Harris represents SKN at historic unveiling of Sir Vivian Richards Statue
Team UNITY Leader Dr. Timothy Harris was among special dignitaries present at the historic unveiling of a statue in honor of West Indies Cricket legend Sir. Vivian Isaac Richards.
Sir Vivian, also known as the “Master Blaster“, the Antigua & Barbuda, Leeward Islands and West Indies legend, was honored with a statue of himself at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground, North Sound, Antigua.
“It was certainly an honor and privilege to be a part of such a significant and historic occasion. Sir Viv was the center piece of a Team that showed and exemplified what is possible when people UNITE. Viv was the focal point of a united Caribbean entity that dominated the world of cricket. An entity, West Indies Cricket team, that saw greats from throughout the region coming together to bring pride, joy and success to all Caribbean people throughout the world,” said St.Kitts-Nevis Opposition Team UNITY Leader Dr. Timothy Harris. Also in attendance was Nevisian Cricket legend Stuart Williams and future Legend Keiron Powell
“I must on behalf of the federation and Team UNITY congratulate Sir Viv on the unveiling of this well deserved monument in his honor. I also must extend congratulations to Sirs Curtley Ambrose, Richie Richardson and Andy Roberts on their well deserved pending knighthoods. They have all brought pride and joy to not only Antigua and Barbuda but the entire region and the world,” Harris continued.
The unveiling of the statue came two days ahead of the service which saw Roberts, Ambrose and Richardson being knighted during the first One-Day International between long-time arch rivals, West Indies and England
