Honey Jam Artist selected to perform at “Broadway to Barbados!”

The popular Broadway to Barbados concerts return to Barbados on March 21 at Frank Collymore Hall for a 6 night run. For the first time they will feature a local vocalist to perform along side some of New York’s Broadway greats.

Michal Hassid of lead sponsor Diamonds International, spotted Lyn’L at January’s Honey Jazz concert and was wowed by her performance. “I was amazed to see the high standard of talent that Lyn’l has to offer. All of the artists who performed that night were very very good. Lyn’L has an unbelievable voice that comes from very deep inside, but seems very easy for her. When I spoke to her after the show she was so modest about her talent and I just loved it. This is the first time a local female vocalist is participating in the production.”

Lyn’L, who has been singing for many years and becoming weary of not progressing in her career, was even at the point of considering giving up singing. She was overjoyed at the news: “When I received the phone call I was speechless and really couldn’t believe this was happening to me. It was like I’ve worked so hard and dedicated to my craft for so many years and its finally paid off. The moment it got confirmed I was jumping up and down the hotel I work and shouting with excited. This is a great opportunity and I can’t wait to be a part of his great production!

New York show producer Neil Berg was impressed when he viewed video footage of Lyn’L’s performance at Honey Jazz. “I am delighted that Lyn’l is joining the show! Even after decades of working with some of the world’s best performers, I am always impressed with the immense talent Barbados has to offer, and Lyn’l is no exception. It is an honor to have her join us as a special guest“.

Lyn’L performed at the Honey Jazz concert as well as last year’s Honey Jam developmental initiative, where she received free workshops in songwriting, general music industry business, and vocal and performance with renowned coach Elaine Overholt, whose guidance no doubt helped to improve her already great talent. Honey Jam producer Ebonnie Rowe is thrilled for┬áLyn’L;-

“This is a fantastic opportunity for Lyn’L on many levels – the experience alone of performing in such a prestigious show, networking with top New York Broadway singers and producers. It is exactly how our concerts are meant to function, as a platform for exposure and a stepping stone to great opportunities such as this. We’ll be out in numbers to support her!”

Tickets are available at Diamonds Int’l – Broad St, West Coast Mall – Sunset Crest, Lime Grove, Super Centre Warrens & Big B and Lewis Drug Mart – Rockley Main Road.
