UK AID FUNDED BUSINESS TRADE MISSION TO VISIT BARBADOS NEXT WEEK

The British High Commission is pleased to announce that a 22-member trade mission featuring companies active in Aid Funded Business will visit Barbados (26-31 January). This trade mission has attracted thirteen UK companies from the fields of climate change, project facilitation, project consultancy, property, land and agricultural asset acquisition management, planning and environmental design, provider of steel bridges, strategic management, sustainable development, entrepreneurial leadership, public administration and energy efficiency services.

The British High Commission, through UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) has worked closely with international aid agencies, Barbados-based regional organisations, Government Ministries, institutions and private sector companies to develop programmes for the visiting companies.

Group meetings will be held with the Caribbean Development Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, European Union Delegation to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, Department for International Development, UN, Caribbean Export Development Agency, Caribbean Tourism Organisation and Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency. Individual appointments are also being arranged with Officers within these agencies, Government officials and private sector companies.

The aim of this mission is to help UK companies pursue business opportunities with aid funded agency organisations and boost collaboration with public and private sector entities where possible. This is the third Aid Funded Business trade mission to Barbados, following earlier missions in February 2012 and January 2010.

The Delegation is being accompanied by Ms Cheryl Boxall, UKTI’s Aid Funded Business Project Manager and Mrs Alison McKinlay, Aid-Funded Business Project Manager at Scottish Development International.
