TRINIDADIAN CHARGED WITH DRUG OFFENCES: OISTINS SEARCH REVEALS COSMETICS A DIFFERENT SUBSTANCE!

Trinidadian national Charlen Ulanda Ferguson, 33 year old was arrested and charged by members of the Drug Squad for the offences of:

1. Possession of 1.74 kilos of cocaine
2. Possession with intent to supply;
3. Trafficking; and
4. Importation.

On Saturday, 30 November 2013, Ferguson arrived by air from Trinidad about 10.40 am and on clearing Immigration, she was interviewed by Drug Squad personnel. She was referred to Customs, where a search was conducted but nothing was found. She was taken to Oistins Police Station under suspicion of having a controlled substance. A more detailed search of her luggage was conducted and liquid cocaine was found in 218 bottles of cosmetics in a box. Total weight 1.74 kgs.
