The son of first generation Cuban immigrants, Cris Cab is a natural-born singer who picked up the guitar at age 11, and began writing and recording his own songs on a 4-track machine he acquired at age 14. Influenced by Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Buju Banton, Sting, Marvin Gaye, and Stevie Wonder (to name a few), Cris was “discovered” four years ago by Pharrell, now one of his biggest boosters.
“I knew from the moment he grabbed his guitar and sang that first note,” Pharrell recalls, “that with the proper nurturing, that kid had it. He is merely warming up. This kid is just getting started.”
