Daylight Robbers in Remand, charges laid on pair who assaulted Brit passengers in Bridgetown

Junior Orlando Hunte, 28 years of Rices, St Philip and Marlon Gooding, 35 years of Union, St. Philip were arrested and charged as follows:

38 counts of burglary
• 1 count of aggravated burglary
• 4 counts of Serious Bodily Harm (two(2) pertaining to the shooting of the two British visitors the Priors);
• 1 count Theft
• 1 count Escaping lawful custody;
• 1 count Arson
• 1 count of Having a loaded firearm
• 1 count of Possession of a firearm with a valid licence
• 1 count of Illegal possession of 9 rounds of ammunition
• 1 count of Going equipped.

Junior Hunte and Marlon Gooding have been jointly charged for:

• 3 counts of robbery (one of these pertains to robbing Ann Prior)

CONSEQUENCES

• Junior Hunte pleaded guilty to all the 15 summary offences in relation to matters committed under the jurisdiction of that Court. He was sentenced to 3 years for those offences which have values exceeding $5000.00, and 18 months for those offences with values under $5000, to run consecutive after the 3 years have been served. (3 years + 18 months).

The remaining 6 offences are indictable cases*.

The remaining cases have been transferred to their respective Courts on the below-mentioned dates.

• District A – 28 March
• Holetown – 3 April
• Belleplaine – 8 April
• *To return to Oistins regarding the remaining 6 cases on 22 April.

Marlon Gooding has been remanded to appear at the following Magistrate Courts on the prescribe dates (These cases are the ones he has been jointly charged with Hunte)

• District A – March 28
• Holetown – 3 April
• Belleplaine – 8 April.
