DIGICEL ASSISTS WITH THE CARE OF ST. PHILIP DISTRICT HOSPITAL PATIENTS
Far too often the care of those resident at our nation’s District Hospitals goes unnoticed by Corporate Barbados and the public, however, Digicel is playing its part to ensure that this will no longer be the case.
Thanks to The Bigger, Better Network, residents of the St. Philip District Hospital have started the New Year with a good stock of personal care items, a much needed donation given the significant daily requirements.
Members of the Digicel team recently visited the St. Philip institution to present the nursing staff and residents there with packages of wipes, adult diapers, soaps, lotions, among other items.
Digicel Marketing Executive, Randy Howard, indicated that the telecommunications firm has a relationship with the institution dating back a number of years and noted that this latest donation was a continuation of that relationship: “Our last interaction with the Hospital was when we facilitated the repainting of the building and we vowed then to keep abreast of the vital needs there. The hospital provides a tremendous service while operating on a slim budget; therefore we wanted to lend our support to them in a way that would assist with easing the financial burden. In speaking to the nursing team we were informed that personal care items were one of the hospital’s greatest requirements, as they need to be replenished frequently. We therefore sought to make a meaningful donation by supplying them with items which they use on a daily basis.”
Acting Principal Nursing Officer, Annastacia Jordan, thanked Digicel for the contribution and its continued support of the Hospital: “Digicel has been a good friend to the St. Philip District Hospital and we are pleased to see that they are keen on continuing this relationship by fulfilling some of our greatest and most important needs. It is donations such as these that show the level of care which still exists among Corporate Barbados. I would like to thank Digicel once again and we look forward to a long relationship with them.”
