St Lucian Performer makes a statement at Caribbean Soul Fusion in London
Claudia Edward was one of the six artistes and two headline acts showcased at the Soul Fusion Concert during the London 2012 Olympics hosted by Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export) on August 9, 2012 at Grosvenor House, London, UK.
Claudia describes the event as a melting pot of talent, and says that it was just an amazing experience bonding with other Caribbean artists, and listening to the vast array of talent and musical styles emerging out of the Caribbean.
“It was absolutely exhilarating being on stage, knowing that I had the support of my fellow St. Lucians who were able to attend the event.” Claudia’s performance included tracks like “Hey Boy” produced by Rossi & Tonite penned by Derick Yarde. “It was great performing my music to a group of people who had never heard it before and was even more gratifying seeing their response to the music. The feedback was amazing!”
Claudia is thankful to the organizers of Caribbean Export for giving her this wonderful opportunity to bring her music to the European world and dubs her experience as “unforgettable”.
“Special thanks goes out to those who attended the event, and also to my family, friends and supporters who were with me in spirit. Together we can achieve!”
Caribbean Soul Fusion Concert was the closing reception for the 2nd CARIFORUM-EU Business Forum, which took place from August 8 – 9, 2012. The CARIFORUM-EU Business Forum is supported under the European Union’s (EU) 10th European Development Fund (EDF) Regional Private Sector Development Programme (RPSDP), and in collaboration with CARIFORUM Directorate, the CARICOM Secretariat, and Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
