Police in Barbados busy and weekend’s not begun – Over 1,000 lbs. held in Drug seizure as young man succumbs to accident injuries
DRUG SEIZURE
On Friday 17 August 2012, during a joint training exercise at Glenburnie, St. John, members of the Drug Squad and the Barbados Coast Guard found and sized 21 large taped packages, weighing 1,304 lbs with vegetable matter later proven to be cannabis.

No arrests have been made in connection with this cannabis find.
ROAD FATALITY
Mark Mason, 24 years of Church Village, St. Philip, died on Sunday August 14, 2012, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he was a patient since being involved in a three vehicle accident on Mapp Hill Road, St. Michael on 26 February 2012 about 4:40 am. (Seventeenth road fatality for 2012)
Mason who had been in a coma since the accident, was a passenger in a motor car driven by Jamal Barrow, 25 years of the same address. Another motorcar was driven by William Farnum, 23 years of Worthing, Christ Church. The occupants of the third vehicle ran from the scene.
