Citizens in Defence of Grenada’s Lands and Heritage joins the nation in celebrating and saluting the remarkable and historic feat of Kirani James – an Olympic gold medal in the 400 metres at the London 2012 games.

His achievement is not only a first for Grenada and but also for the Eastern Caribbean. Once again, with Grenada reeling from the negativity of the recent political and social happenings, he has united the nation in a way that only he can, giving us reason to be proud CITIZENS of Grenada and to celebrate.

We pay tribute to his parents, his mentors and all those who supported him along the way in this remarkable journey. Our country owes them a debt of gratitude.
