Green Hornet (Columbia Pictures) – Britt Reid (Seth Rogen), son and heir to Los Angeles’ largest newspaper fortune, is a rich, spoiled playboy who has been happy to maintain a direction-less existence. When his father James Reid (Tom Wilkinson) dies, Britt meets an impressive and resourceful company employee, Kato (Jay Chou). The duo realizes they have the means for doing something worthwhile with their lives and finally step out of James Reid’s shadow. While Kato builds the ultimateweapon – The Black Beauty – an indestructible car with every weapon imaginable, Britt decides that he and Kato must pose as villains in order to get as close as possible to the city’s criminals. With the help of Britt’s new secretary, Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz), they learn that the chief criminal in the city is named Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz). The evil Chudnofsky has united all gangs under his power, and quickly sees that the Green Hornet is a direct threat to the prosperous criminal underworld he controls. Directed by: Michel Gondry.

  • Hanna (Focus Features) – Hanna (Saoirse Ronan) is sixteen-years-old. She is bright and inquisitive, as well as a devoted daughter. Uniquely, she has the strength, the stamina and the smarts of a soldier; these come from being raised by her widowed father, Erik (Eric Bana), an ex-CIA man in the wilds of North Finland. Erik has taught Hanna to hunt, putting her through extreme self-defense workouts, and home-schooling her with only an encyclopedia and a book of fairy tales. Hanna has been living a life unlike any other teenager; her upbringing and training have been one and the same, all geared to making her the perfect assassin. Out in the world, there is unfinished business for Hanna’s family, and it is with a mix of pride and apprehension that Erik realizes his daughter can no longer be held back. Directed by: Joe Wright.
