Many of you may enjoy fruit with your breakfast. Some of you eat it plain, some add it to your cereal, some add it to your morning smoothie. As the weather is turning, I wanted to have something warm for breakfast instead of a cold smoothie, so here’s what I came up with. It is highly nutritious, low in calories and very yummy to boot. I encourage you to give it a try and let me know what you think.
- Ingredients
1 apple with peel
1 pear with peel
1 red plum with peel
2 tbsp raisins
2 tbsp oatmeal
1 tbsp ground flax seed
1/4 tsp allspice
- Instructions
Chop fruit into bite size chunks. Mix in bowl with remaining ingredients. Place in greased square baking pan. Bake covered in 350 degree oven for 30-minutes.
This recipes makes 1 cup. I took a half cup and put it on top of 1/2 cup plain all natural yogurt. You can use cottage cheese too.You can also let it cool and use it in smoothies or add it to your cereal. You can also reheat it and add it to pancakes or waffles. If you want to make a bigger batch, just double or even triple the recipe.
