2002 gangs of new york 015

I received this independently from two different sources, it is quite chilling and far more reaching than any Boscobel Toll Gang, it was Barbados Free Press who looked at that and a local branch of the Crips and it seems someone in the Police is finally taking it seriously… I verified it by contacting both authors (Clergy and Officer listed above) and soliciting their permission to carry this info which you will not see elsewhere until the mainstream media finally copy me, probably without sourcing, LOL!

What has me concerned is that when I joked about Gothic characters in Barbados when this started as a blog nearly three years ago, yet there appears to be a lot more than meets the eyes, ears or even fangs? It seems some take Vampirism too seriously – are “Twilight” and “True Blood” that influential, I mean like – hey! These are just books and movies? Can folk not realise a clever story as just that?

Before I start, two matters… first my thanks to Pastor Roger Husbands and PC 720 Allan Goodridge who compiled this data for a PTA Meeting recently, I learned they plan to hold many more similar meetings between now and August.

This is a Martin Scorsese porttrayal of an Irish gang in New York about 300 years ago, will Barbados gangs ever learn what these did not? In the end we all turn to ground-fodder and no one will remember these turf wars...

Next thing? This article has a picture which little children need not see, but is placed so any teens reading this understand if you live by the gun, then so shall you die by the gun! It is not nice and has not been openly revealed before… Now for the details of “The Gangs Of Barbados“;-

  • Most gangs are well organised and operate by a particular code
  • The “wannabe’s” are the most dangerous as they are trying to prove themselves worthy of joining gang. These are the ones who would shoot or kill someone at random to prove how violent they are.
  • Most of the problems with gang members originate in the home i.e. lack of parental controls, rejection, lack of cooperation.

Main Gangs Operating In Barbados (Other Minor Ones)

Gang: Origin, Gang Colour

  1. Bloods: Los Angeles, Red
  2. Crips: Los Angeles, Blue
  3. Black Mobs: Chicago
  4. OutLawz: New York
  5. Panty Pudding Girls: Barbados
  6. 313 Harlem Empire: Harlem
  7. MS 13: South America
  8. Jamaican Posse: New York, Miami, Jamaica

What is a joke for many Bajans is dead serious for others - many local Gangs use "Obeah/Witchcraft" in the hopes of transforming into True Vampires? Is HBO and Stephenie Meyer at fault?

  • Some gangs practising voodoo/ demon possession
  • School girls becoming possessed (Minor gang known asGothics”)
  • Teacher at Springer School reprimanding 13 year old girl (whose voice was normally quite soft) and suddenly girl’s eyes staring and speaking in a deep male voice
  • Girls from My Lord’s Hill (Minor gang known asCelebrities”) believe that they will become vampires. Wear all black, shave eye brows off and repaint them in black, draw fang marks on their faces
  • Some gangs use soft shoes as symbol e.g. BK shoes, normally known as British Knights but now used as “Blood Killers
  • Roderick O’Brien Mayers aka OB, Leader of Bloods, deported from USA, deemed a menace to society in USA, sleeps with 4 body guards at the 4 corners of his house
  • Gang members wear scares, hats, beads as evidence of gang membership. Beads are worn and the longer the beads the higher the rank.

Initiation

  • Burn 3 marks in the form of a triangle on back of right or left shoulder – this is known as the Dog Paw
  • Males are “beat-in”- surrounded by a group of gang members and each person delivers a vicious beating
  • Girls are “sex–in “– unprotected sex with at least 5/6 gang members. Some school girls reported missing on a Friday and then showing up on a Monday /Tuesday would have been initiated by “sex-in” during the weekend.
  • Potential new members required to kill someone at random, kill a rival gang member (Bloods and Crips hate each other), commit a crime. Going to jail for such acts ensures certain bragging rights , respect in and out of Dodds and rise in influence in gang.
  • Each gang has a type of alphabet code which is disclosed to members. Some codes that children use while on the Internet
  1. POS – Parent over shoulder
  2. PORS- Parent over right shoulder
  • Drug /Gang Lords paying light bills, buying school shoes etc to ensure loyalty in a particular district.

Panty Pudding Girls

  • All Girls Gang
  • Lesbianism (call each othercuz”)
  • No underwear
  • Involved in Skin Out competitions – Club Extreme on Tuesday nights/other locations
  • Unprotected sex
  • Used by other gangs as bait to draw out rival gang members for execution e.g. guy killed by Central Bank recently was meeting a Panty Pudding Girl for sex but this was setup.
  • Guyanese girl used to draw “Tone” out of his house, he was executed using the 5 shot execution (both hands, both feet and head) and then his hands were cut off

Prevention Strategies by Parents

  • Be as close as possible to your child
  • Nurture / embrace children
  • Know where they are, what they are doing, who their friends are
  • Check bags etc for items they are bringing home which you haven’t given them
  • What are they watching on the Internet, what are they listening to, and who are they chatting with
  • Pray
  • Watch for deep preferences for certain colours (red, blue) or unusual hand positions/ gestures
  • Encourage your child to become involved in sports but go with him/her

Personally I think this sort of behavior must not be ignored but must not be recognized to give theses lawless youngsters credence.

@Former Police – You state either a conundrum or an oxymoron; how to keep it as ignored yet not publicised? These are not mutually exclusive, once a situation is public you cannot expect the knowledge shared to be an ostrich shoving its head in the sand… However ugly, this is something which requires everyone to not only KNOW but do their part to combat and ultimately defeat!

http://bit.ly/b1FvEnA massive gang takedown in Queens uncovered a rare alliance between Bloods and Crips and a ruthless plot to assassinate cops, authorities said Friday.

The revelations came as law enforcement unveiled the chilling results of long-runningOperation Under Siege – 104 suspects, dozens of guns, two slayings and piles of drugs and cash.

What was the relevance of the vampire reference?
This is gang warfare plain and simple, as far as I can ascertain.

Did you read the whole article? There is a minor gang known as Gothics who try Obeah to make themselves Vampires? Draw fangs on their mouth?

    Dear Editor,

You have gone beyond your often good sense and have now become involved in a work of fiction. Ignoring the nonsense about the Bloods and Crips, when did lesbianism and belief voodoo (obeah) become crimes? When did dressing like a Goth become a crime?
If the police have all this evidence of organised crime, why don’t they make arrests.?
It is irresponsible to draw people in to this nonsense of organised crime on par with the Mafia and others. How about the Mid-East Community and their alleged support for Hezbollah and Hamas and laundering money through Brazil? How about certain Asians who do not seem to access any official departments, yet live very prosperous lifestyles?
How about the boat loads of drugs and guns being smuggled in to Barbados?
These are not being smuggled by kids and delinquent youths in Licorish Village, but by well-organised people living behind gated communities, most of them foreign-born.
By focusing on working class kids in poor districts we are doing the same thing as the police in the US and Europe?
Do not allow the fight against crime to become one of class and ethnicity.

@Mr Austin: I was waiting to see if anyone else responded – sexual preference or personal belief is not a Crime but are possible symptoms of a worse situation, these are documented fact by the Constable and the Minister, so if you are claiming this item is fiction then you are calling them LIARS.

Did you speak with them? Have you attended their meetings? What basis of fact did you use to arrive at your scholarly assumptions? You seem to be an expert on many of this island’s ills, how are you so familiar with them – surely you have a solution then?

It seems you are hoping to belittle both Pastor Husbands’ & PC 720’s efforts to raise Barbados from its self-imposed mire. Do you have an agenda or are you merely an empty vessel spouting vitriol which once analysed is no more than bile, but is it for misdirection or is it for disagreeing? I leave that for Barbados to decide…

    To: Austin –
Of all the thing things noticed is the observation by a reader to see religion and sexuality, and not the straying of our morals, violence in society, degradation and destruction of our future. Might logic be so far away from you to see how there is a connection between the smugglers of drugs and those introducing the violence to continue their illegal trade. The focus on the working class is not on purpose, but common, as these are the classes that speak, are large in number, and can be reached. You might want to look at the the bourgeoisie and see that they too are involved, but may not be reachable. They may even be in control since they have the means. The fight against crime is not all that we are battling with.

We battle and war for the souls of 9 and 10yr old children to keep them safe and healthy. A constant fight is on for their bodies, that they are not disfigured, maimed, or killed. Their minds are a constant field for hunters who have no other skill but cowardly ones. So, pick on the fact that lesbianism, and voodoo was mentioned. These are the tools that are being used. Although we would love to pick our battles, satan has given us some that we have no choice but to fight with the word of God. Putting on the full arm, and standing in his liberty, and not being entangled again, because he has made us free, hence we want our children freed TOO!

If you check carefully, I think you will notice that the point of the report was not to prove whether or not they are criminal enterprises. I believe the RBPF has ascertained that they are, and the purpose of this document is to alert members of the public as to if their son/daughter/ward may be a part of the organizations. Hence the mention of lesbianism and gothic fashion etc.
In no way does the language of the text imply that these acts are criminal in themselves, rather they are identification marks….not to say that all who practise such are criminals, but I think you get my point.

I agree with Hal Austin, the guys in Licorish village are not the ones importing the AK47s and Glocks that are used by these so-called enforcers.
    They are street soldiers.
The Godfathers running said street soldiers cannot be named or guessed at I suspect, out of fear of swift retribution.

I’m seeing the proverbial stick your head in the sand approach amongst some of the writers. While all must agree that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, we must look at the facts before we come to any sensible conclusion. The fact of the matter is that these gangs do exist in this country whether we want to admit this or not. I have seen with my own eyes what the article is mentioning. To ignore a problem does not mean it will go away. If left unattended it will continue to grow and get worst until you no longer can ignore it. We must act swiftly and offer any assistance that needs to be rendered to the authorities. If we don’t we will not have a healthy society for our future children to grow up in. I’m a parent of four and it disturbs me the way this society is heading. Please if we have no intentions of doing it for ourselves at least do it for the children. They MUST have the opportunity like us to grow up and have a future. How many more children have to suffer or die at the hands of these bullies. Tell me how many more before we take a stand and do something.

I am greatly disappointed in some of the comments I have read. First I wish to indicate that the document which was being circulated was not a document either myself or the constable had written. Our aim in giving this type of information was to somehow help those parents who are concern about their children the opportunity to watch, speak and look after there children much better. One writter indicated that I do not live in the ghetto, well sir, I have come from a background of drugs, gangs and guns and I know what I am talking about, I wish before you would have judge me you would have called me. Further more I do understand that some of the comments came from persons from the heights, but it was for those humbly souls in the Villages and Valleys. So if you want, just like how we normally do things in Barbados, ignore it, well be my guess but for all those who need anymore information to help them understand it better, please call me. Thank you Mr. Bourne for assist us in getting the information to those humbly people and may God bless your efforts.

“Some gangs practising voodoo and demon possession” This statement is made in the article. Could you please explain for me, in simple terms what is voodoo ? I work with children from primary school to tertiary levels and with adults as well. The major problem in their perception of the world is ignorance. Though there is a lot of “schooling” there is not always education about matters which are important to personal, community and national development. Spirituality is one of these. I would like those who seek to demonise Ifa, Orisa, Lucumi, Santeria, Voodoo, Umbanda and all other African derived spiritual practices to explain these practices. It is obvious from the informastion given that they are not as knowledgable as they need to be. They might be better served trying to enlighten the ignorance of the young people than adding to it. Barbados is a country of copy and once we continue this trend our young people will copy our adult behaviour and the behaviour of people in countries that we consider “better” and “more advanced” than Barbados. This will include the good, the bad and the ugly. All we can do is try to teach what we know and not what we believe. Belief is also a state of ignorance. When you know you know you have passed the atge of belief. May Olodumare and the ancestors guide our actions.

TORONTO POLICE CONDUCT RAIDS ON GANGS?05/04/10

Police in Toronto, Canada, have targeted gangs with links to a Jamaican criminal organization, the Shower Posse. The United States government believes the Shower Posse has influence with Jamaica’s ruling Labor Party and bears responsibility for over 1,400 drug-related killings. Toronto police claims the organization provides weapons to street gangs and controls them. Over 1,000 police across Ontario acted on 105 search warrants, which resulted in 79 arrests. They also seized $30,000 in cash, 19 guns, cocaine, body armor, diamonds, and over 10,000 ecstasy pills.
