Authorities in Barbados say it will be a miracle if any of the members of a family of five buried under rubble when their apartment collapsed two days ago are found alive.
Sniffer dogs and listening devices brought in by a specialist team from the Miami Dade police department have failed to detect any signs of life.As a result the rescue mission which involved about 200 emergency officers has been scaled down to a recovery operation.

- It has been three days since five members of a family were trapped when their apartment collapsed into a cave in Barbados.
Buried beneath the rubble and now feared dead is a 30-year-old man, his 27-year-old wife and their three children, ages 7, 3 and 1.
Authorities Tuesday demolished the remainder of the apartment block to safeguard the lives of the members of the search team.
The decision was made after another portion of the building collapsed Monday night.
Meanwhile the attorney general, Dale Marshall said the 12 member team from Miami Dade police department that came to assist in the search left Barbados Tuesday morning.
